What "settlement guarantees" actually means
A balance is not spendable until it clears the chain's depth policy. Crossing it writes a matching double-entry pair; a reorg reverses an entry rather than losing one.

How a match outcome is proven
Simulation stays off-chain and server-authoritative, so play stays at 64ms. Only a succinct proof of the outcome crosses to settlement, and the payout layer verifies it without replaying the match. Proof cost is the open question.

Why an answer has to cite its source
Sources are typed and versioned. Freshness policy and tenant boundary are enforced when the query runs, not at ingestion, and every passage returns carrying provenance back to its origin document and version.
